The Decree defines two categories of the professional examinations based on the scope of investment instruments for which the qualified provider is authorised to provide investment service:
INVESTMENT INTERMEDIARY
The professional examination in dealing with customers in the context of investment service provision only applies to the investment instruments listed in § 29 (3) of the Act (narrowed scope of instruments – i.e. the instruments with which an investment intermediary can work).
- This examination includes 60 questions examining knowledge of the examinee and 3 case studies, 5 questions with a single correct answer each.
- The examination takes 135 minutes.
SUMMARY EXAMINATION (SECURITIES TRADER)
Professional examination in dealing with customers in the context of investment service provision applying to all investment instruments listed in § 3 (1) of the Act (full scope of instruments).
- This examination includes 92 questions examining knowledge of the examinee and again 3 case studies, 5 questions with a single correct answer each.
- The examination takes 180 minutes.
